WHICH STORES ARE KEEPING VAT AT 15%?

With VAT going back up to 17.5% we’ve listed what some of the High Street retailers are looking to do! Increase or keep there VAT rates at 15%, and for how long.

Argos - VAT staying at 15% until end of January when the new catalogue comes out.

BHS - VAT remaining at 15%

Boots - VAT being added to products gradually this month.

BT - VAT raised from 1 January.

Comet - No immediate plans to raise prices.

Debenhams - VAT will be increased on all items during January.

Dorothy Perkins - VAT remaining at 15%

Game - VAT remaining at 15%

HMV - VAT will increase on top-of-the-range items such as games consoles and electronics but not on CDs and DVDs for now.

Homebase - VAT going up now

House of Fraser - Existing stock will remain at lower rate. As new stock arrives it will be priced at 17.5% rate.

John Lewis - VAT remaining at 15% probably until February.

Maplin Electronics - VAT remaining at 15%

Marks & Spencer - VAT going up now although some food items will stay at 15% VAT until 11 January.

Miss Selfridge - VAT remaining at 15%

O2 - VAT already increased on monthly bills but not on top ups for mobile broadband Pay & Go.

Orange - Increases apply now on pay monthly tariffs and handsets, mobile and home broadband but not on pay-as-you-go tariffs or handsets and monthly prices for Superfast broadband.

Tesco - VAT frozen at 15% for many non-food items.

T-Mobile -VAT increased from 1 January.

Top Shop - VAT remaining at 15%

Virgin Media - VAT increased from 1 January.

Vodafone - VAT increased from 1 January.
